The magnanimous guy from the Trek franchise will be directing an episode of the CBS All Access show’s initial season.
Frakes, obviously, played Commander William T. Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation and in many Trek movies.
The producer and writer Gretchen J. Berg stated;
“Jonathan Frakes will rejoin the Trek world with Discovery. He’s a fantastic guy and great director.”
Aaron Harberts, the fellow show-runner said;
“Our cast is dying to work with him.”
Frakes is exceptionally experienced behind the camera. As it is, he has helmed a few episodes of TNG, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, along with the Trek movies First Contact and Insurrection.
Furthermore, he’s also directed episodes of a few non-Trek titles, for example, Leverage, Burn Notice, and NCIS: Los Angeles. Berg and Harberts already worked with Frakes when he directed five episodes of CBS’ Roswell.
