Star Trek: Discovery Revelation: Jonathan Frakes Joins As The Director


The magnanimous guy from the Trek franchise will be directing an episode of the CBS All Access show’s initial season.

Frakes, obviously, played Commander William T. Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation and in many Trek movies.

The producer and writer Gretchen J. Berg stated;

“Jonathan Frakes will rejoin the Trek world with Discovery. He’s a fantastic guy and great director.”

Aaron Harberts, the fellow show-runner said;

“Our cast is dying to work with him.”

Frakes is exceptionally experienced behind the camera. As it is, he has helmed a few episodes of TNG, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, along with the Trek movies First Contact and Insurrection.

Furthermore, he’s also directed episodes of a few non-Trek titles, for example, Leverage, Burn Notice, and NCIS: Los Angeles. Berg and Harberts already worked with Frakes when he directed five episodes of CBS’ Roswell.

Discovery features Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead) as a splendid Starfleet First Officer; the very first human taught on Vulcan who’s compelled to settle on an unthinkably troublesome decision which impacts the whole Federation. The series additionally features Michelle Yeoh, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones and Anthony Rapp.
