Don’t worry, we haven’t lost the Doctor Who Christmas special. The upcoming show will see the return of our First Doctor in an Adventure in Space and Time, David Bradley. The episode will have two of Time Lord’s classic companions from the 1960s.

Titled “Twice Upon a Time,” the Christmas special will a comeback of Doctor Number One’s friends, Ben and Polly. They were first played by late Michael Craze and Anneke Wills.

In the latest edition of Doctor Who Magazine, Ben Jackson who traveled aboard the TARDIS as companion to the First (William Hartnell) and Second Doctor (Patrick Troughton) will now be portrayed by Jared Garfield (Hollyoaks). The actress of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Lily Travers will be replacing Anneke Wills.

Written by showrunner Steven Moffat, in “Twice Upon a Time”, fans will see Capaldi meet David Bradley as the 12th and First Doctors near regeneration. Capaldi hands over the keys to TARDIS to Jodie Whittaker, the woman to play beloved Time Lord.

When speaking about the episode, Moffat had this to say:

“It’s the 12th Doctor saying to Number One, ‘Listen, you have to [change] or all of this stuff won’t happen!’ and the 1st Doctor saying, ‘Well, what about you?’ — they go off on a crazy adventure with Mark Gatiss and Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie) and decide whether or not they’re going to carry on … which of course, they are!”

So, we are all super excited to see Ben and Polly return for a whole new adventure on Dec. 25.
