The well-known personality, Dorothy Stratten, died at a young age. Her husband, Paul Snider, killed her at the age of 20. Her husband suspected her to have an affair with the director Peter Bogdanovich.
Stratten wanted a divorce from Snider to be with Bogdanovich. Snider hired a private detective, and he also bought a used shotgun from a private seller. On 14th August 1980, Stratten arrived for a meeting with Snider at his rented house at noon.

They spent some time in the living room where Stratten’s purse found. Snider’s roommates were not at home then. They came back at 8’O clock and found Stratten’s car at the parking lot. They didn’t enter the house then thinking that Snider and Stratten might get back together.

Later at 11 pm, they found Snider and Stratten’s dead body when they entered the bedroom. Police suspected that Snider shot Stratten that afternoon, and then, he committed suicide after one hour.

Dorothy met Paul Snider when she worked part-time at a local dairy. After that, they began to date. Snider hired a photographer to take nude Dorothy photographs, and he sent them to Playboy in 1978.

That year, she moved to Los Angeles and became a finalist for the 25th Anniversary Great Playmate Hunt. In 1979, Dorothy became the Playmate of the Month, and the actress had small roles in Americathon, Skatedown U.S.A.

She also appeared in the series Fantasy Island. The next year, Dorothy became the Playmate of the Year. Hugh Hefner encouraged her to fly to New York City to shoot her film, They All Laughed, directed by Peter Bogdanovich.

After some days, Dorothy and Bogdanovich started a relationship, and Snider got the news by hiring a detective. This actress was born on 28th February in 1960 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her parents are Nelly and Simon Hoogstratten.

She died on 14th August 1980. Her death inspired two movies, the television movie Death of a Centerfold in 1981 and Star 80 IN 1983. Her last film, They All Laughed released after her death in 1981.
