Hayley Atwell, the actress who had played Agent Peggy Carter in the MCU has reunited with young Howard Stark.
Atwell had shared a photo on Instagram of herself with Dominic Cooper, who had played Howard Stark in Captain America: The First Avenger and Agent Carter TV series.
One cannot figure where the photograph was taken, but Dominic Cooper is an English actor and Atwell is filming Disney’s Christopher Robin movie in the UK.
Atwell’s Peggy Carter was a breakout from Captain America: The First Avenger. She was very popular and got a Marvel One-Shot short, which led to a TV series on ABC. The series lasted for 2 seasons and followed Carter on missions for the SSR, the precursor to SHIELD, after Captain America’s disappearance. She faced enemies like Dr. Faustu, Leviathan, and Madame Masque.
Cooper guest starred as Howard Stark on Agent Carter, though Stark’s butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), was involved with Carter’s adventures. Cooper then starred in AMC’s adaptation of the classic comic book series Preacher, which renewed for a 3rd season.
Atwell reunited with a few members of the MCU during a photo shoot in Atlanta. She had shared photos with Paul Bettany and Cobie Smulders, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, and Louis D’Esposito, Marvel producer.
Though Peggy Carter had died during events of Captain America: Civil War, there has been a few speculations that Atwell will return to the role for an upcoming Marvel project. A photo of Atwell with motion capture dots on her face suggests that she may return in a Marvel film that is in production, maybe Avengers 4.
The presence of the Time Stone means that flashbacks and time travel are not out of the question. Atwell appeared as Carter in a fantasy that Scarlet Witch trapped Captain America in during Avengers: Age of Ultron, though in the flashback, she had appeared as she was in the 1940s before Cap was frozen.
Wasp and Ant-Man are currently filming and rumor has it the movie will include a flashback to the 1980s. Atwell had appeared as an older Agent Carter in the first Ant-Man movie, so maybe she is coming back for a sequel.
