Disney wants to expand Star Wars franchise after the still-untitled third film Episode 9 and the studio already has exciting plans in place.

According to well-known Star Wars watcher and YouTuber Star Wars Explained, films in space opera that will follow the ongoing trilogy will be set in the Old Republic, an era that fans have always wanted to learn more about.

The YouTuber got information from a source who has proved credibility many times by supplying accurate information about Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi.

According to this source, Snoke will be the gateway of Disney to connect current saga to the next Star Wars films as the villain hails from the Old Republic.

Snoke is an ancient Sith who was locked up in Force chamber that can resist his darkness. He was hidden in the Unknown Regions the area beyond Outer Rim which has been looked into in Star Wars books and comics.

If this report is right, the next trio of Star Wars films may explore the mysterious part of the galaxy.

In Star Wars: Aftermath novels by Chuck Wendig, Emperor Palpatine was interested in Unknown Regions as he believed it held the key to understanding ways of the Force.

It was hinted by Star Wars Theory’s source that Snok being a Sith and what he described as “Force vampire” may come with Chosen One prophecy to serve his need for souls of Force users to survive and regenerate.

So far in Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi, it has been hinted that the movie will change the way viewers see and understand the Force.

This can be setting up the Star Wars films after Episode 9. The Force has been around for years and how folks in the Old Republic viewed it was different from now.

Nothing has been confirmed as of now so the report should be taken with a pinch of salt. Fans can focus on Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi, which will hit the theaters December 15.
