Sabrina started modeling at fifteen after winning Beauty contests, Miss Seaside, Miss Liguria. She debuted in television in 1984 with the Italian prime time show Premiatissima.
In 1986, Salerno released her debut single Sexy Girl, produced by Claudio Cecchetto, a hit in the Italian and German charts. In 1989, Sabrina appeared in the Italian comedy film Fratelli d’Italia. The next year, she joined the prime time TV show Ricomincio da 2 as the hostess. Sabrina’s theatrical debut was with the comedy I cavalieri della Tavola Rotonda.
