Mark Hamill Celebrates His Thanksgiving With A Heart-Warming Tribute To Carrie Fisher

Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) is surely getting into the holiday spirit as he posted a few Star Wars-themed Thanksgiving tweets on Twitter. In a few weeks’ time, fans will find out whether Hamill’s character, Luke Skywalker will be true to the Force in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But for now, there is no question that the actor wants to spread a whole lot of joy.




While the presence of Luke has loomed over The Force Awakens and the Jedi master made an appearance in the last minute of this movie, The Last Jedi marks the return of his character since he is crucial to the narrative in the 8th episode of our saga from the galaxy far, far away. There is a whole lot of history with this character which dates back 40 years with the release of the first ever Star Wars movie, where Luke had turned from a farm boy into an intergalactic hero. He confronted his father in The Empire Strikes Back before he led the Jedi patriarch to redemption in Return of the Jedi.

Hamill is very thankful for his experiences in Star Wars which has been reflected in the photos that he had tweeted out on Thursday in celebration of Thanksgiving. Most of these photos are light-hearted but is heartfelt.




Star Wars fans were saddened when Carrie Fisher passed away. She can be seen again as General Leia Organa in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. With this in mind, the upcoming movie carries a lot of emotional weight- for the ones involved in making it and the fans. Thanksgiving is the perfect time to be thankful for all the stories that we have loved and love, and the people have who helped us in making them. And Hamill is doing just that.
