Star Wars: The Last Jedi is barely a week away from its theatrical release, but, there is a great deal that is not yet known about the movie. However, fans can be certain about one thing that the film won’t have any cameo from Han Solo. The legendary character perished in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, therefore, there was no Harrison Ford on the set this time around. Han was the mentor to several new characters such as Finn (John Boyega) who stated that it was weird to feature in a Star Wars film that didn’t have Ford. This is what Boyega had to say about his experience of working in the Ford-less film:

Definitely. I mean, it’s a different change when you’re coming onto the next movie, and Harrison Ford is not there. Han Solo is not there. It’s the reality of Han Solo’s death in this; it’s just mad. But whenever I can see him, it’s great times.

It is a life-altering scenario to get an opportunity to play the lead role in a Star Wars film, but, what about sharing the screen with the actor you have admired since the childhood? Priceless, right? John Boyega worked with Harrison Ford in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, however, the murder of Han Solo in the film meant that there was no chance of any further sequels with him. Jim Boyega appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and he talked about his experience of shooting for a Star Wars film without Harrison Ford and how it felt different. Boyega said that it made him realize that Han Solo was dead. If it is any consolation, he has still got Luke Skywalker?

During his conversation with Jimmy Fallon, John Boyega narrated a fun story about how he was a huge fan at the time of his first meeting with Harrison Ford. Everyone around him behaved in a very respectful way, Boyega said he asked: “can I have a hug please?” He reportedly got Ford to autograph some Indiana Jones dolls (action figures, that’s what they are called John).

It can be imagined that some others also felt different working without Ford and that includes Mark Hamill who is once again playing Luke Skywalker and this time in a significant way. Mark said he wasn’t willing to work on any more Star Wars films before he heard that Ford was onboard. Although it won’t depict Han Solo anymore, The Last Jedi will still have plenty in store for the fans. The trailers have received a superb response and Lucasfilm/Disney have been raving about the work put in by writer-director Rian Johnson on The Last Jedi. As far as Han Solo is concerned, we will hopefully get to see plenty of him in the Han Solo spin-off film which has been in the news due to production troubles.

We can at least get our Han Solo fix in the Han Solo spin-off movie, even though the production has been troubled.
