There is a fresh job listing from WB Games Montreal on Facebook confirms that their next project is about the DC Universe, although, it is not clear as to which DC property will it be based on.
“WB Games Montréal is looking for a Technical Director to lead our team of programmers,” the Facebook post reads. “Do you want to join a passionate team working on expanding the DC universe in the interactive space? ”
Back in 2015, there were rumors about WB Games Montreal developing a Superman game. However, there was never any official announcement. Another rumor that did the rounds recently was about Rocksteady (the studio behind three of the four Batman: Arkham series games) would handle a Superman project. However, the very few details that have emerged from that project are not credible.
It is very much possible that any upcoming game might be based on Batman or some other Bat Family member. David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Games, had said last year that the future collaborations with DC might be based on other characters. There could also be several games in the development. The 2015 WB Games Montreal job listings had confirmed the development of two fresh DC comics games. However, we don’t know if that’s how things stand presently.
WB Games Montreal is credited with several DC video game versions earlier and has made Arkham Origins in 2013 which was the third installment of the Batman: Arkham series. The game didn’t get as much popularity as the other installments by Rocksteady. But, the studio has always been close to the franchise and created DLC for Arkham Knight including Batgirl: A Matter of Family DLC.
