The movie was called ‘God particle, ’ but changed and it will come out in February 2018 after being delayed for one year. If you love space flicks, then this for you with a story on a science experiment going wrong and astronauts surviving in space.
15. Captive State:
The film is directed by the same who directed ‘Rise of the planet of the Apes’ Rupert Wyatt and is set in a time of extra-terrestrial occupation. Inspired by dystopian stories, the movie will remind you of 1984 the novel.
14. Extinction:
A father saving his family an from alien invasion sounds gripping, and this film will be worth a watch. Eric Heisserer who has written the screenplay for Arrival rewrote the Extinction script and gives everyone a reason to watch this movie.
13. Dropa:
A story on a government assassin, Harrison who assassinates of aliens called ‘Dropa.’ By the sound of it, we are looking forward to alien films are fun. The movie is making political statements through the storyline and commenting upon the situation of immigrantsvs US government.
12. MEG:
This is a perfect combination of Jason Statham battling a gigantic shark! Statham plays Jonas Taylor who is a rescue diver and comes face to face with this beast which is 10 times the size of a normal shark.
11. Rampage:
For fans of the Rock, we have good news. You will watch him in a sci-fi movie called ‘Rampage’. Dwayne Johnson will play the head of an anti-poaching unit who is seeking to find a way to reverse mutations on animals before they destroy everything.
10. Omphalos:
The sci-fi thriller is in production for 4 years and has a release date for August. A detective who investigates a murder finds the victim in himself as he delves deeper and finds out he is a time traveler. The movie looks promising and has an upcoming writer and director.
9. Annihilation:
Set to release in February the movie is about a biologist whose husband disappears in the US that has been reclaimed by nature. Scary things are happening as she enters the abandoned land and she may have to fight nature herself.
8. The Darkest Minds:
Following footsteps of a young adult dystopian novels like Hunger Games and Maze Runner, ‘Darkest minds’ follows a 16-year-old who has survived a disease which killed 98% and ones who survived have developed superpowers. This is the biggest fall releases of 2018.
7. Jessica Frost:
This is the story of a woman who counters a time-traveling psychopath as she finds her origin. Plot details have not been revealed, and the director said that the film is a bit of Tarantino type flick.
6. Mortal Engines:
A dystopian futuristic sci-fi flick which will release by the end of next year has a good cast and storyline. Based on book series it has been adapted for the big screen by Peter Jackson.
5. Maze Runner: The Death Cure
Fans of this series are in for a treat because the series comes to an end with this last movie. Thomas and friends must find the cure for a disease caused by the flare. The movie was delayed because of injuries sustained on set by Dylan O’Brien. The movie will be the final chapter in the dystopian series.

The second film in the star wars sequel trilogy is all set to release in December. A major reason to watch the movie is that legend John Williams will return to this franchise to give a score. The film has a star-studded cast, and this franchise is big and will create a lot of hype.
