Disney breathed life to the “Star Wars” themed developments coming to Disneyland and Disney World. They did this by revealing a colossal model on the main convention floor during the D23 Expo.
The models are a scaled copy of the 14-acre of land “Star Wars Land” expansion ready to open at Disneyland in 2019. Disney had beforehand released the concept art of the attraction in July 2016.
“Both ‘Star Wars’-inspired lands will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port, and one of the last stops before Wild Space, where ‘Star Wars’ characters and their stories come to life.”
Disney said the following in a blog entry about the expansion;
“Here, guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two signature attractions: one that lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and an epic ‘Star Wars’ adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”
Disney has already stated that one of the entry points to the new segment of the park will be along Big Thunder Trail in Frontierland.
In addition to this, the company likewise has plans to include an “Avatar” land to its amusement parks. Disney said it would release more information about “Star Wars Land” amid D23 this end of the week.
