This is a big news! Even though a ton of people across the globe wanted Zack Snyder to leave the DC Cinematic universe after watching Batman V Superman, this is not the way anybody wanted him to go. Zack’s daughter Autumn had committed suicide on 20th March 2017, after hearing this news Warner Brothers wanted him to take a break and delay the movie. However, Zack refused this offer and went to back to work thinking that this is going to help him to get over the tragic loss. But looks the emotional void was too big to fill with work, and this is how he explained his situation:-
“In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was way through it,” Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter today, with his wife Deborah sitting by his side. “The demands of this job are pretty intense. It is all consuming. And in the last two months I’ve come to the realization …I’ve decided to take a step back from the movie to be with my family, be with my kids, who really need me. They are all having a hard time. I’m having a hard time.”
After watching the rough cut of the of the Justice League, he was not satisfied with few things and he thought that he needed someone with a different perspective to have a look at his work and add up new things. That’s where Joss Whedon was pulled in, and he worked with Snyder on the reshoots of some more scenes. Joss Whedon has given us massive hits in Marvel Cinematic Universe already, and the addition of him in this film is only going to make things awesome. He is also going to direct the upcoming Batgirl movie.
When the reports asked Warner Bros Pictures president Toby Emmerich about nature of the contribution from Joss Whedon, he stated:-
“The directing is minimal and it has to adhere to the style and tone and the template that Zack set. We’re not introducing any new characters. It’s the same characters in some new scenes. He’s handing a baton to Joss but the course has really been set by Zack. I still believe that despite this tragedy, we’ll still end up with a great movie.”
Both the trailers of Justice League has got the fans hyped up, and even the critics think that the movie is going to be great this time, which was not the case with Batman V Superman because people were pissed that 2nd trailer kind of told the whole story.
As fans, we can just sit back and wait for the film to release, but one thing is for sure, this movie’s success is very critical for DC Cinematic universe to sustain. They need to get this one right!
