After having been teased in the closing scene of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter Parker will now don an upgraded suit in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movie.
Since it is the upgrade given by Tony Stark, a few fans have assumed this may be the MCU version of the Iron Spider suit from the Civil War storyline. This has now been confirmed by a merchandise, and it reveals that it will have a whole lot in common with the material’s counterpart.
There is a new Minimates features characters including a version which may be called “Iron Spider-Man.” The figure is noteworthy as it features 4 mechanical spider arms.
This is the latest confirmation after LEGO set had shown showed a brick-built version of these arms, although they were less accurate as they were made with LEGO. While the Minimates are stylized, they give a much better indication of what they will look like in the upcoming movie, especially the red, gold and blue color scheme.
In the comics, the Iron Spider suit is red with solid accents. It looks like Iron Man’s version of Spider-Man’s costume. Tony Stark had designed this for Peter Parker after he joined the pro-Registration side. Parker switched sides and abandoned the suit.
The film’s version of this costume does not humor Tony Stark’s ego like the comic version, keeping the red and blue scheme and also incorporating a few gold accents.
Avengers: Infinity War seems to be taking influence from many fan-favorite Marvel Comics, including Civil War, Infinity Gauntlet, and Infinity.
Avengers: Infinity War will release on May 4th. Black Panther is now showing in theaters.
Other upcoming MCU movies include Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
