Tyres Gibson has said that he won’t be back for Fast & Furious 9 if the film starred Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. This is the newest controversy related to his verbal war with his co-actor. The earliest sign of the trouble was seen when Tyrese used social media to openly ask The Rock to avoid starring in a solo based on his character Hobbs. Irrespective of the request, a Hobbs solo film was declared soon and Fast & Furious 9 was rescheduled for 2020.

Subsequently, Tyrese has repeatedly called The Rock “selfish” for doing that. Tyrese also claimed that he had earlier rejected doing a solo adventure featuring his character Roman and Tej, a character played by Luc adris. While Vin Diesel has openly stated that the delay of the next film is not because of any single person, Tyrese’s anger shows no signs of abating.

He now declared on Instagram that he wouldn’t be a part of Fast & Furious 9 if The Rock plays a part in it. The character of Roman Pierce played by Gibson is a fan favorite among the franchise characters, and it brings the comic respite. While he is undoubtedly passionate about the series, Gibson has strong emotions about The Rock issue, strong enough to leave the franchise. You can check out his full comment below:

Although the Hobbs solo film was speculated right from the time that the character was first seen in Fast Five, the discussion gathered steam after this year’s film The Fate of the Furious. The Rock had tremendous chemistry with co-star Jason Statham, and it prompted them to film a post-credit scene showing the duo team up for a fresh adventure. While Vin Diesel got the scene removed from Fate of the Furious, it has now been declared that the new film will be a Hobbs and Deckard (Statham) spin-off.

Things have been less amicable between Diesel and The Rock during Fast 8 when The Rock shamed his co-star for his on-set behavior. Diesel is trying to convince the fans about it all being fine. He even released a video recently which almost confirmed that director Justin Lin and Jordana Brewster are going to be back for the next two films.

We hope that things improve between Tyrese and The Rock between now and 2020. Fans would be glad to see both of them in Fast & Furious 9,rather than seeing their ugly public spat.
