A few days back, Robert Downey Jr. had shared that early screening of Spiderman: Homecoming was very well received, and he is confident that Marvel has just created another successful franchise out of young Spider-Man.
In an Interview with “Allocine” (A French Media House), Tom Holland slipped a nice bit of info for his fans and told the world about the Marvel’s secret plan about the Spider-Man trilogy that will feature Tom in the lead.
“There is still a lot of room for Peter Parker, and Spider-Man especially, to grow, in the next two movies. He’s definitely not the finished article by the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and I really look forward to exploring the different ways he can grow up and go through puberty, I guess. Yeah, it’s going to be an exciting couple of movies. Yeah, there will be Spider-Man 2 and 3.”
After finishing this part of the interview, the host reminded Holland that Marvel has never spoken of the Trilogy officially and they are hearing about this for the first time from him. To which Tom responded, “Now, you know, sorry, Marvel, oops!” He then hinted humorously about the secret “Marvel Spies” who take down the “Information leakers.”
“Homecoming” is giving us a different take on Peter’s personality and life than what we have seen in previous live-action incarnations of the character. Sony is also creating his own Venom-verse that doesn’t seem to have a Spider-man in it at this point. Tom Hardy is portraying the character of Venom in the film, that is scheduled to hit the theaters on the later part of 2018. Will Sony’s Venom meet Tom Holland’s Spiderman? Nobody has the answer to this question. But at least we can say that this new reboot of our “friendly neighborhood” doesn’t seem to suck like the “Amazing Spider-man” series.
