Earlier this week, it had been reported that there was a huge leak about a potential rental service for GameStop that allow the players to play an unlimited amount of games for a fixed price. The program is via an ad that showed off a new deal called “PowerPass” and we know that it was not a passing rumor.

PowerPass is straight forward: Gamers pay a fee of $60 upfront and this gets them 6 months of playtime for many pre-owned games. With new titles seeing a trade back, it is a sweet deal for those players looking to “try before you buy” or want to play a game that is not worth its full price. 60 bucks = 6 months unlimited library.

The slight catch is that it is one title per rental and this is fair. One can rent the title, play the game and repeat this process. The icing on the cake is that at the end of their 6-month trial, players can choose a pre-owned game to keep for themselves.

A crucial distinction of the new program is that it is open to PowerUp Rewards members. Well, it is because this way, the stores can keep track of their titles rented and if they have been returned or not. Games can be chosen via in-store or on the website.

PowerPass launches in-store and online November 19th.
