Some might say that pictures have been replaced by videos. We disagree. Pictures seem to convey a lot more, in a lot less. “A picture speaks a thousand words” is all the more true in the digital world, where every new photo about popular franchise is scrutinized and dissected, spawning speculations and theories. This is especially apt for Marvel, who is notorious for not releasing much info before a movie launch. Yet, it seems to be learning, and actors are now taking the mantle to drop clues and hints. And the latest sign we received is a devastating one.
It is no news that Thanos is the biggest, most evil villain of the MCU. Fans were getting prepared to see some heavy losses, whether they like it or not. But a recent post from one of the stars made many believe that the death of an entire family is possible in Thanos’s ruthless quest for ultimate power.                      Â
Actor Jeremy Renner (who plays Hawkeye), shared an Instagram post with his new haircut, Mohawk style. Seems pretty regular, isn’t it? Not if you had read Marvel Ultimate comics. In this series, Hawkeye’s entire family is killed, after which he cuts off his hair and goes off on a rampage to avenge the murders.  Â
          Â
The death would solve one of the bigger mysteries of Marvel: the unnecessary extended scene with the Barton family in Age of Ultron. Most thought it as an attempt to give a certain depth to the character of Hawkeye, who was far from being a fan-favorite. Yet, it seems like it was building upon the premise to kill off the family in the upcoming movie and thus being one of the possible events that make the heroes go on full beast-mode . Â Â Â
  Â
The MCU, so far, has kept some distance from normal romantic relationships. There have been great friendships, but love was the theme only in solo Marvel movies. Perhaps the departure from tradition we saw with the Hawkeye-arc might be only to kill them off in a very GRR Martin-style of writing.                      Â
To be honest, this is not the only explanation out there it could be simply a look Hawkeye adopted as a symbol of defiance against Tony Stark and the government authorities. One thing is for sure, though; Hawkeye is going to be a lot more interesting.
