The reboot of The Crow, titled The Crow Reborn, will start production in 2018. While the 1994, The Crow gained a considerable following and filmmakers have been trying to get a reboot. Names like Bradley Cooper and Luke Evans were circling the main lead. Over the past year, filmmaker Corin Hardy and Justice League star, Jason Momoa have had on-again off-again attachment to this reboot.
The Crow Reborn was picked up by Sony, which brought questions of Hardy and Momoa’s involvement and when the movie will start production. Thanks to original comic creator James O’Barr, fans have an answer to a few questions.
O’Barr sat with ScreenGeek and revealed that The Crow Reborn would begin pre-production in February of 2018 with director Corin Hardy helming the movie. O’Barr did not address Momoa with the movie. Addressing his involvement in The Crow reboot, O’Barr said:
“As of right now, it’s slated to start pre-production in February with a very talented British director named Corin Hardy. I’m involved in every aspect of the film and working closely with the director.”

Given that February is not far away and considering social media posts with Hardy and Momoa and their involvement with the project, it seems that the Aquaman star is attached to The Crow Reborn.
O’Barr’s had confirmed involvement in The Crow Reborn means that rumors of the movie shooting for another dark, supernatural movie and an R-rating are likely, given Sony’s push for an R-rated Venom movie.
Fans of the 1994 Brandon Lee version of The Crow are wary of a reboot, considering the poor reception to the sequels. With O’Barr and Hardy’s involvement, maybe the duo can change minds.
