It has been not even two weeks since the latest trailer for The Last Jedi came out and fans have already dissected every single frame of it to figure out any clues about the film’s storyline. One of the fans analyzed a trailer with Taiwanese subtitles, and since it had gender-specific characters, it revealed vital details about the person that Snoke was talking to and the fan went on to confirm that the trailer went to extreme lengths to mislead the viewers.
A fan remarked on Reddit about the scene showing Snoke say, “When I found you,” the reference to you is feminine and later when Snoke said, “Fulfill your destiny,” the subtitles indicated that he was talking to a man. In the end, Luke had remarked, “This is not going to go the way you think,” and the subtitles clarified that it was a male being addressed by Luke.
We saw visuals of Snoke using Force powers to torture Rey; it can be assumed that he was talking to her initially. This raises the question about whether Kylo is beaten by Rey or if this chase began prior to the happenings of The Force Awakens.
We have already seen Snoke talk to Kylo. Thus, a lot of people felt that Snoke’s remarks, “When I found you, I saw raw, untamed power. And beyond that, something truly special,”
Addressed his apprentice, however, now it seems that he might have been addressing Rey, highlighting her special powers.
Luke made his comments when he was on Ahch-To. However, the subtitles indicate that he was talking to a male, that implies that Luke could have been talking to Kylo or one of the Knights of Ren who as per the grapevine are chasing Rey on Ahch-To.
The film will release in two months’ time, and this is all guesswork based on the two and a half minute trailer, it is fair to assume that new theories and guesses will keep coming up until the film hits the theaters.
Star Wars: The Last Jediwill reveal the truth on December 15.
