Kathleen Kennedy said: “We’re sitting down now, we’re talking about the next 10 years” of stories.”

Star Wars: Episode IX is not the end of the road for Rey, Finn or any other characters that debuted in The Force Awakens. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told the Star Wars Show web series that plans are underway to create new stories.

“We’re sitting down now, we’re talking about the next 10 years of Star Wars stories, and we’re looking at, narratively, where that might go,” Kennedy said while talking about the work of Lucasfilm’s Story Group. “Future stories beyond Episode IX with these new characters: Rey, Poe, Finn, BB-8 — but we’re also looking at working with people who are interested in coming into the Star Wars world and taking us places we haven’t been yet. That’s exciting, too, because it’s a vast galaxy far, far away.”

Although, it is not surprising at all as we have seen characters exist beyond trilogies earlier too, and the charm of The Force Awakens was seeing Leia, Han Solo and Chewbacca come together again and now with the concept of solo Star Wars Story films, any future stories might be based before or in between the present trilogy. Whatever it be, but, this news does appear to be a spoiler. It must also be noted that she didn’t talk about future stories related to Adam Driver’s character Kylo Ren.

It is possible that Kennedy is aware of the kind of attention her words would get, therefore, it is important to notice that the makers of the Star Wars Show inserted a Last Jedi reveal of sorts in their weekly episode which was the first ever visuals of a new place called Canto Bight, which you can spot at the 3:13 mark. Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases on December 15 and then we will get to see more of Canto Bight.
