The iconic Princess Leia will be seen in “sentimental” last scenes in The Last Jedi. We wonder if she will meet Kylo Ren and pardon him for the murder of Han Solo?

There is a lot of expectation among fans about the film’s final scenes which feature Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia.

Judging by what we see in the clips that appeared in the last Vanity Fair video as well as the latest sizzle reel, we feel that it is going to be a highly emotional and impactful narrative.

Director of The Last Jedi, Ryan Johnson recently stated that the Princess Leia’s arc would ensure “emotional satisfaction.”

There have been recent revelations suggesting that she will feature in two crucial scenes.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

Johnson made a statement in response to leaks which claimed that Leia’s story arc in the film will “wrap up nicely.”

He said: “Carrie gives a really beautiful performance in the film. We obviously didn’t make the movie to be her final Star Wars movie. Given that though, I think there are scenes that she has that are going to mean a lot to people and there are scenes that we have with her where now not having her around I watch them and I think I’m really thankful that we have that and we can give that to people.

“So, ‘wraps up nicely?’, I don’t know, but it emotionally gives some kind of catharsis I guess, gives some kind of emotional satisfaction, I really think so, I hope so. I know for me it does.

We have already received the sad update about a reunion between Luke and Leia being nearly impossible ever again. Then what is Johnson hinting at?

What can unfold in the scenes involving her that will provide satisfaction to the fans? It is crucial to know if the scenes will also feature her disturbed son who killed his father Han Solo at the end of The Force Awakens?

As per Mike Zeroh, Star Wars expert, this is exactly what his Pinewood, as well as other sources, have revealed.

He claimed: “Leia is going to have two big key scenes..and in at least one of them she interacts with one of the main characters. I believe that will be her reuniting with her son, Ben Solo, now known as Kylo Ren. We have heard this before in the past. I believe a mother-son reunion would really touch a lot of people’s hearts.”

One of the scenes might be based on her position of the leader and head of the rebels.

Zeroh further said: “Maybe she (Leia) passes the torch as general of the Resistance to someone else? Perhaps the character that her (Carrie Fisher) daughter Billie Lord plays?

It is clear that Leia will meet Kylo who was earlier known as Ben Solo and this meeting would be extremely emotional. This is also like to end the emotional mayhem to the torturous family divide which forced Kylo to the Dark Side and subsequently murdering Han.

Could this be that they meet at the time when the massive battle of Crait will take place towards the end of Episode 8?

Maybe that is the reason why she looked crestfallen in the footage of The Last Jedi that we saw at the D23 Disney Expo?

While the comments by Johnson might just be an effort to comfort the fans about Leia’s arc being satisfactory and complete, there are comments from Kathleen Kennedy which are contrary to what he said.

Kennedy confirmed that Leia is likely to play a key role in Episode IX. Kennedy also stated that it is Fisher herself who sought a much more impactful participation in the last Star Wars chapter of this three trilogy plan.

As fans, we look forward to a fabulous performance by Fisher and some impactful sequences showcasing Leia. As seen in the footage shown so far, the film promises both.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases on December 14.
