For the fans of the hit TV show Criminal Minds, the departure of Shemar Moore was not easy to digest. His character, Derek Morgan, was loved by many for a variety of reasons; whether it was his playful arguments with Garcia or the uncanny ability to solve crimes without losing his nerves.
Hence, it came as good news when Moore confirmed that the character of Derek Morgan was his favorite, too, and he would not mind going back to the series. He told that “anything’s possible,” while in talks at a Television Critics Association summer press tour. Moore was a part of the series for 11 seasons, which made him into a huge TV star. He left BAU in season 11 but came back for the season 12 finale. Many take it as an indication that the return of Derek Morgan is not an impossibility.
“I told all the fans, I keep telling them those elevators closed, and they can always open up again.”
Last year, when Moore departed from the show, he mentioned the reason to be his willingness for taking new roles as an actor. Evidently, he did find it. Moore would be starring as the lead character (Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson) in the new CBS show, S.W.A.T.
While fans would love to see him in his new show, they would love his return to Criminal Minds even more. We can just keep our fingers crossed.
