The latest Star Wars: The Last Jedi TV spot shows Rey and Luke Skywalker in an emotional conversation wherein Rey is promising him that he won’t fail him if he mentors her. Now that the iconic Star Wars next episode’s release is less than a month away, we are seeing a constant in-flow of promotional clips. The latest one is a bit longer than the earlier clips, and it shows a serious exchange between Daisy Ridley and Mark Hamill portrayed characters.

We guess that the film will have three simultaneously running parts which will show each of the new heroes embark on their respective missions. Poe would be on the Resistance’s frontlines with General Leia against the First Order. Finn and Rose Tico are occupied with finding out codebreaker DJ for an unknown mission whereas Rey is expected to stay at the faraway planet of Ahch-To with Luke. The first two segments will keep the action and grandiose going, Rey’s journey in The Last Jedi is probably more of a soul-searching trip similar to Luke’s outing to Dagobah to find Master Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back.

The 1.20-minute clip has several extended and varied shots from the earlier footage, but, with new angles. Most of them focus on Rey and Luke’s presence in Ahch-To, especially with Rey persuading the last Jedi to train her. You can feel Luke’s internal conflict regarding the decision whether to risk it again by mentoring someone and his trauma at the memory of what his nephew did that he would eventually refuse Rey. Have a look!

A closer look shows that the talk between Rey and Luke that we saw during the last shot of the second trailer released last month was just a trick. You might recall that the clip left us stunned when we saw Rey apparently joining Kylo Ren. There were many people who didn’t believe in that and called it a bluff considering the different backgrounds visible and now the new spot confirms that Rey is asking Luke to help her sort herself out among the chaos.

The film’s release date is fast approaching, but, Star Wars: The Last Jedi needs to reveal a lot more. All the promos might familiarise us with the look and feel, but, it is not easy to guess where the Rian Johnson movie is headed story-wise. If it is any hint, that the Looper maker has now been entrusted to create a fresh trilogy for the saga, gives us an idea of what we can expect from The Last Jedi. Fortunately, as stated above, the wait to find out is going to end soon.
