A new book titled Star Wars: Everything You Need To Know has been published recently, and it throws new light on the characters of Snoke and Luke Skywalker in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It is really commendable on Lucasfilm’s part to avoid sharing much as spoilers, and the latest book has come out only now, and that means they are not willing to reveal much even now. However, the new book does provide some details about the relation between Snoke and the Force and also about the reasons that prompted Luke to go to Ahch-To.
There is an expanded version titled Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need To Know, published by DK Books has now been released as a part of their Journey to The Last Jedi campaign. It contains information from Star Wars News Net on some pages, and on most other pages it sheds light on various characters and locations. Contrary to the expectations about Snoke’s Praetorian guards being droids, the book reveals that they are humans.
The book also states that Luke has been living on Ahch-To for a long time and he eats whatever he gets naturally on the island. He doesn’t eat the Porgs, and Mark Hamill has also stated that Luke has not tasted meat since A New Hope. The book reveals that Luke came to Ahch-To to discover the first Jedi Temple and that’s something we already know, however, this time it has been confirmed beyond doubt. The book also confirms about Rey coming to Ahch-To so that she could make Luke return to the Resistance. Now, that’s also something which we knew and has now been officially accepted.
There is still a great deal of mystery around Snoke. However, some further details have emerged in the book about this guy. Snoke’s ability to use the Force, telekinetically tossing and strangling people and telepathic powers have all been confirmed in the book. Andy Serkis, a Motion Capture actor, stated that further information about Snoke would be revealed in The Last Jedi. However, nothing much is being told right now. A new photograph of Snoke’s action figure was seen last week which gave a peek about what he wore inside his clothes, and it had a feminine appearance which made a lot of people speculate about Snoke’s real gender.
While the book doesn’t reveal any new stunning details, it does serve the purpose of piecing together The Last Jedi’s narrative further. We are likely to know more about the time when Ben Solo went to the Dark Side and how. We know that Snoke is proficient with the Force and earlier there has been talk about him being capable of manipulation and persuasion, which made us believe that Ben Solo might have been at the early stages of his Jedi training when Snoke found him. While this is all unconfirmed presently, it does appear logical.
Mark Hamill has indicated about the second Last Jedi trailer airing during the next week’s Monday Night Football game, and that might allow us to have a look at Snoke before the movie’s release in December.
