The Canadian actress, Rachel Skarsten, is mainly famous for portraying the role of Dinah Lance in the television series, Birds of Prey and Beth Kane/Alice in the television series, Batwoman.
She was born on 23rd April 1985 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Mary Aileen Self and Dr. Stan Skarsten. She is of English and Norwegian descent. She took training at the Royal Academy of Dance for 12 years and studied visual arts and the cello at Claude Watson School for the Arts.

She also completed a double degree in English Literature and Classical Studies at Queen’s University. An agent discovered her when she was at a memorial of her father. He then cast her in the television series, The Famous Jett Jackson in the role of Mickey Twitty in 1998.

From 1998-1999, she played the role of Elizabeth Lawrence in the series Little Men. She acted in the television film, Angels in the Infield in Brigitte’s role in 2000. She also was cast as Raylene Hilburn in another television film, Jewel, in the following year.

She got her breakthrough in 2002 when she went to cast as Dinah Lance in the television series, Birds of Prey, and she worked in the series till 2003. She also played the role of Elyse in the series, The Listener from 2011-2012.

She had the recurring role of Tamsin in Lost Girl, and she was attached to the series from 2013-2015. From 2015-2017, she portrayed the role of Elizabeth of England in the series, Reign. She also got fame for her role as Alice/ Beth Kane in Batwoman in which she is working since 2019.

She made her debut on the big screen in 2002 with the film, Virginia’s Run. In 2007, she can appear in the direct-to-video movie, American Pie Presents Beta House. She has appeared in other films like Two Hands to Mouth, Molly’s Game, Timeless Love, Fifty Shades of Grey, etc.

In May 2020, she announced on her Instagram that she married her boyfriend, Alexandre Robicquet.
