There are no confirmed details regarding the new season of “Orange is the New Black,” so obviously rumors are abundant on the internet. The most persistent rumors are about the big cliffhanger at the end of season 5, where the inmates were transported on two different buses.
This division of the Litchfield’s inmates in two buses has led the fans to believe that they would now be divided into two separate groups and may even be sent to two different correctional facilities. Naturally, the fans are concerned about this development and its impact on the budding friendships between various characters, including Marisol Gonzales a.k.a. Flaca and Maritza Ramos.
Despite the possibility that the famous pair might be separated in the next season, fans still hope that all might turn out to be well in the end. In a recent interview, Selenis Leyva (who plays Gloria Medoza) shared that after the riot in the season 5 finale, there is a high chance that the inmates would part their ways. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Leyva gave away some more key points. She confirmed that after the riot of the previous season, the survivors would be leading very different lives. Fans, who had grown used to the familiar surroundings of Litchfield Penitentiary, might be disappointed with that.
In another interview, Beth Dover (who plays Linda Ferguson) revealed that Linda might be one of those inmates in favor of this separation. It was a common confusion among fans that Linda was an inmate. Dover hinted that the sociopath fans were used to seeing ever since season 4 might come back as a different person in the new season.
The show returns for season 6 in 2018 on Netflix.
