The march to the release of the Star Wars movie goes on with much more information and images reaching the public.
A new photo from Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been released by Empire Magazine and reveals the specialized First Order Stormtroopers invading Crait where the Resistance is hiding.
The design of the troopers seems similar to Snowtroopers though the First Order versions take after the original Ralph McQuarrie designs. The planet’s surface appears to be similar to that of Hoth’s climate. Instead of fighting in the snow, the Resistance and First Order will fight on a mineral-rich planet.
The Stormtroopers have a resemblance to the First Order Flametroopers from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. A key difference is the use of black undersleeves for Flametroopers while the Stormtroopers have a white appearance. They employ the skirted look the Snowtroopers that is used in The Empire Strikes Back.
It is not clear what the scene but based on the trailer that showed Kylo Ren leading a squadron of Stormtroopers into Crait, it is probably one of those moments.
Crait was used by the Rebellion in secret, mining the planet to fund the war against the Empire. After the Imperial reign had collapsed, the New Republic uses traditional methods to fund the government, but with the rise of the First Order, it looked like they would need a place to hide.
The First Order had destroyed the New Republic’s base and sent the galaxy into a frenzy without reason governing force to guide them. The Resistance hopes to squash the fears, but they are on the ropes with the might of the First Order.
While they may find a brief moment of respite, it does not seem like it will be long before the First Order is again breathing down their necks.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters on December 15.
