Kevin Feige, the President, Marvel Studios has stated that the look of MCU will undergo a drastic change after the release of Avengers 4. Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth are both about to finish their contracts, and it won’t be surprising to see a new set of heroes will take up the roles of Captain America and Thor in future.
This is something that has repeatedly been witnessed in the comic book world. Captain America’s allies Winter Soldier and Falcon have both worn the red, white and blue suit and wielded the shield, whereas Jane Foster is presently playing God of Thunder in the comic series Mighty Thor. Feige was questioned about the possibility of a female Thor appearing in the movies just like we have seen in the comics.
“We always look back to the comics to get those ideas…sometimes very specific storylines like ‘Civil War,’ sometimes just nuggets or characters like ‘Planet Hulk,’ Feige said. “So anything that’s happened in the comics, even a female Thor, become great potentials and the ideas from which future movies can be born.”
Jane has been extremely popular as Thor, and it has led to some fans expecting to see something similar take place in Marvel Cinematic Universe. This would provide Marvel Studios an opportunity to bring a refreshing tone to its movies by bringing in new faces after the existing actors’ contracts are done with.
Thor: Ragnarok is the next MCU release scheduled for November 3, and it stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.
