In 2016, Sharapova failed a drug test. This leads to a huge change in her career. She was banned for 2 years by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). But the Court of Arbitration for Sports found that she had taken the substance “based on doctor’s recommendation.”

Sharapova was engaged to Sasha Vujačić, in 2011. On August 1, 2012, Sharapova confirmed that the pair had ended the engagement and separated earlier that year.
