Mark Hamill is a social media wizard, and he has done it again. Though, this time he might be suggesting that Luke Skywalker is related to Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This is crucial to notice that Mark Hamill has been mocking Star Wars fan theories for the last few months. However, he has upped the ante now. Amidst all the fun and banter, he might have revealed the information about Luke and Rey’s relationship. Adam Driver might or might not have been the one to let it out that Rey is a princess during a recent interview, a statement that led a lot of people to believe that Rey is a sibling to Kylo Ren and thus, related to Luke Skywalker.

Mark Hamill tweeted an image of Rey and Luke. The upper photo showed Luke in The Empire Strikes Back battling his father with a pug-like face. The lower picture showed Rey using a blaster and her face having the same expression as Luke, which led a lot of people to feel that these two are related. Hamill captioned the photo: “Who wore it better?” and he probably had a lot of fun by referring the Beatles song “Glass Onion.” He added another hashtag reading “AmazingReysemblance.” “Glass Onion” was a song by John Lennon wherein he inserted a line “the Walrus was Paul,” referring to their professional relationship. However, the song later fuelled rumors about Paul McCartney being dead for theorists.

A lot of people felt that Adam Driver had let slip a genuine secret about Rey’s parents in The Last Jedi, while others feel that he was misquoted. Further analysis of the quote suggests that he might have been talking about a princess in Akira Kursawa movie The Hidden Fortress, which had inspired A New Hope. The said film showed a “secret princess, ” and that might hint at Rey being a princess. It might be a superb idea if the first Star Wars film was inspired by The Hidden Fortress, but, we will find that out soon.

Other Last Jedi news is about a new TV spot coming out during Game 7 of the World Series, and it showed Luke Skywalker on board the Millennium Falcon, and it was highly exciting. Seeing Luke on the ship belonging to his old friend recreated nostalgia and also led to a fan theory about Luke piloting Millennium Falcon in a bid to protect Rey after Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren abducted her from Ahch-To. A lot of fans believe that the pilot of the Millennium Falcon wasn’t shown in the scene involving Chewie and Porg because the pilot happened to be Luke. It must be noted that these are all rumors and nothing is clear right now.

Therefore, are Rey and Luke shown to be related in The Last Jedi? Honestly, it is not possible to affirm anything at present because there is so much of contradicting information out there. The only thing we can be sure about is that Mark Hamill is relishing the opportunity to fool around with Star Warsfans. It is also possible that he unwittingly let things slip while tackling the rumors about Luke and Rey switching to the Dark Side. This again will be clarified after the film comes out. As of now, have a look at the above-mentioned comparison photo of Rey and Luke below, courtesy Twitter account of Mark Hamill.
