A startling announcement from Lucasfilm shocked the Star Wars fandom, the show runners behind the upcoming Han Solo Anthology movie are out of the director’s chair. Ron Howard is the next plausible contender to lead the film ahead.

According to the recent reports from Deadline, the change in Director has happened because Kathleen Kennedy thinks that Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s version of Han Solo is too comic to be considered as a Star Wars movie. Hence, she wanted some other director to have a look at it before they deliver the final product to the audience.

Some news portals like Variety are calling it “Creative Differences,” but the way these guys were removed overnight, we are pretty sure the departure was not amicable. The critically acclaimed director Ron Howard is rumored to helm this movie; there is also some gossip that Gareth Edwards (Director Of Rogue One) and Ron Howard will perform Two-in-a-box director’s role.

Epicstream had reported earlier that their source had shared some insights about the relationship between the Lucasfilm administration and Phil & Lord. It goes on like this:-

“Kathy, her team, and Larry Kasdan have been doing it their way for a very long time. They know how the cheese is made and that’s how they want it made… It became a very polarizing set. It was a culture clash from day one… She didn’t even like the way they folded their socks.”

We had seen a similar kind of action in Rogue One when Gareth Edwards shared his directorial responsibilities with Tony Gilroy just before a couple of months before the release date, but all of this had happened after Gareth, and his team had confirmed they had filmed the movie.

Disney creates formulaic movies even though its content seems original, the underlying elements of the story arc in Disney films are repetitive on close observation. The room for a lot of inventions or personal touch is not welcomed by Disney, as they know exactly what they need from the writers and directors.

Rogue One had a change of the director, and it also had re-shoots despite that it become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2016. Lucasfilm and Disney have been doing this business from a very long, and we believe that they are very well aware of their actions.
