In 1979 Fawcett started dating Ryan O’Neal, and they had a son named Redmond James Fawcett-O’Neal. But they got separated after some time. Fawcett started dating a Canadian Filmmaker James Orr.

The relation was ended when James was charged with beating Fawcett in a fight in 1988. Fawcett died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 62 at Saint John’s Health Center in California.
