She was born in Washington, DC, and raised in Fairfield and New Haven, Connecticut, and several other towns in the state. The beautiful actress is of mixed heritage and has Italian, Irish, and Portuguese descent.

She was an extremely active child who was involved in both dancing and riding horses. After a certain point in time, she gave up riding horses to focus more intently on dancing. She had a difficult childhood as she struggled with scoliosis. The discovery forced her to give up on Ballet dancing.

Before this heartbreaking diagnosis, she was extremely dedicated to her dancing, having been enrolled at the Joffrey Ballet School, the New England Ballet School in Connecticut, the Boston Ballet, and traveled to France. She ultimately went through surgery to cure her spine. As a result, she had to wear a back brace throughout the sixth grade.
