There are two more projects under production and lots of upfront news from the cable network.
Adult Swim released its new schedule on Thursday morning which ordered three new pilots and one new Robot Chicken special fashioned after Walking Dead.
The new pilot orders include a new live-action comedy with the same creative team that has earlier done Rick and Morty. Journalist Tom Kauffman has co-created the project with Paul Isakson, and Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty) will be the executive producer of this project which revolves around gifted convicts who fight among themselves to take control of a “prison for the performing arts.” The Harmon owned Starburns Industries is behind this project which is aptly titled as Art Prison.
Apart from this, the other pilots are animated half-hour shows. One of them is titled LazorWulf which features a wolf with a laser mounted on his back created by Henry Bonsu and Daniel Weidenfeld. The other pilot is Chuck Deuce based upon a Nothern California surfer activist who suffers memory loss after getting hit by a giant wave and is created by Lars Kenseth.
“Adult Swim is a one-of-a-kind destination that simply knows its audience,” said Christina Miller, the President and general manager of Boomerang, Cartoon Network, and Adult Swim.
“Mike Lazzo and his team have always found new and interesting ways to produce and distribute content that can’t be found anywhere else.”
The long production slate of Adult Swim has this Robot Chicken special – which is highly inspired by the superhit TV series: The Walking Dead. It is an outcome of the collaboration between Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, the brains behind Robot Chicken and The Walking Dead creators Robert Kirkman and director Scott M. Gimple. This series will continue the trend of spoof shows of Star Wars and DC comics.
“Adult Swim has developed a relationship with Millennials like no other media brand,” Donna Speciale the, Ad sales president at Turner said, “That connection is a key access point for advertisers who want to utilize an authentic voice across custom, branded content, and partnerships rich with direct-to-fan experiences.”
