Rogue One: A Star Wars film may be standalone but it has plenty of Easter egg references to the movies that preceded it. As it is, we know that Rogue One is a call back to A New Hope, which was the original instalment of the series. However, it also syncs the gap between the Saga’s spin-off animation called Rebels. It gives fans almost no reasons to moan about the franchise’s most recent advertising. Here’s why…
1. Familiarity
At the point when Jyn is taken to the revolt base on the moon Yavin IV, she meets some all-time favourites who have been re-introduced or recast in the adventure. This includes Mon Mothma, with Genevieve O’Reilly supplanting Caroline Blakiston from Return of the Jedi (1983) as the ginger haired Senator. Additionally, there is a cameo from Jimmy Smits who plays Bail Organa the adoptive dad of Princess Leia in the prequel trilogy.
2. Blue Milk
We see the movie opening with a youthful Jyn Erso hustling to caution her dad of an Imperial ship landing close to their secluded ranch. Inside their home, we get a look at the notorious Bantha Milk. This is a blue shaded fluid initially gulped by Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars movie in 1977.
