5. Yoda was almost played by…a monkey
We really think we dodged a bullet here. Something tells me if Yoda was actually played by a monkey as initially planned,we would have a bigger laughing stock on our hands than Jar Jar Binks. This revelation came to light in the book, The Making of Star Wars by J.W. Rinzler. According to the book, early on George Lucas has planned on Yoda being played by a monkey wearing a mask and carrying a cane. This idea luckily, was scrapped and we got the puppet we all know and love. We are not sure however if the monkey would have been better than the CGI Yoda however. Hopefully these tidbits are a bit more obscure than a Stormtrooper smacking his head on a door, but what other cool special effects factoids have you noticed in the Star Wars saga that need to be brought to light? If you have any good ones let us know and they could make one of our upcoming articles!
6. Peter Cushing was so uncomfortable in the costume boots of his character that he wore slippers on set for most of the shooting of the movie..
Peter Cushing’s boots were to small so he decided to wear slippers while they shot the movie. Imagine if they would have panned down to his feet by accident…Would have been a legendary blooper!
