The MCU is the first of its kind, a blueprint for companies to follow as they build their stitched-together, shared universe on film. Starting with 2008’s Iron Man and the recent return of Peter Parker to his Marvel Universe home in Spider-Man: Homecoming, MCU spans a decade’s worth of films.
And who can forget the actors? While many like Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L. Jackson, and others have made appearances in a string of MCU and people remember them, some are forgotten.
And here are a few actors from MCU that you may have forgotten they were even in some of these movies:
16. TERRENCE HOWARD
In 2008’s Iron Man, Terrence Howard played the role of Lt. Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes. He was a reasonable counterpoint to Robert Downey Jr’s brash Tony Stark, with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts.
15. EDWARD NORTON
In 2008, Edward Norton played the character of the Hulk.
14. HUGO WEAVING
Hugo Weaving is a familiar as the face of Elrond, who bequeaths the quest on the Fellowship of the Ring, and Agent Smith, the sentient computer virus who desires nothing more than the subjugation of all humanity in The Matrix.
13. ALEXIS DENISOF
Alexis Denisof was cast as Thanos’ majordomo The Other in The Avengers, but one would hardly recognize him under the costume.
12. MIGUEL FERRER
Ferrer played Vice President Rodriguez, who is installed by Aldrich Killian as acting president of the United States when Ellis is missing and cooperates with Killian in exchange for Extremis to treat his ailing daughter.
11. JEFF BRIDGES
Jeff Bridges played the the Iron Monger, Obadiah Stane. Stane was a friend of Howard Stark’s who wanted to steer Stark Industries to its military-industrial roots.
10. T.I.
Born, Clifford Joseph “Tip” Harris Jr, T.I. starred in Ant-Man as Dave, a member of Scott Lang and Luis’s crew in the heist to steal the suit from Hank Pym.
9. NATALIE DORMER
Natalie Dormer had a part in Captain America: The First Avenger as Lorraine, an English private who attempts to seduce Steve Rogers.
8. GARRETT MORRIS
Morris played a supporting role on 2 Broke Girls.He had a cameo in Ant-Man, playing the driver of the Scott Lang lands on after his first, semi-disastrous Ant-Man test run.
7. HARRY DEAN STANTON
When a Hulk crashes through the roof of the warehouse he guards and turns into a Mark Ruffalo, Stanton remains unfazed.
6. LIV TYLER
Liv Tyler played the role of Betty Ross, estranged girlfriend of Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk.
5. SETH GREEN
In Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, he voiced the duck trapped in a world he never made was that it was Robot Chicken’s Seth Green.
4. CHRIS O’DOWD
Chris O’Dowd, had a brief cameo in Thor: The Dark World. O’Dowd appears as one of Jane Foster’s unsuccessful suitors whose date is ruined by the appearance of Darcy with troubling data readings from space.
3. TOMMY LEE JONES
In Captain America: The First Avenger, Jones plays the role of Col. Chester Phillips, military attaché overseeing the Super Soldier program.
2. NEAL MCDONOUGH
Neal McDonough in Captain America: The First Avenger, appears as Dum-Dum Dugan, an original Howling Commando.
1. HANNIBAL BURESS
Buress’s cameo appearances in Spider-Man: Homecoming was a blink. He played the role of Peter Parker’s gym teacher at a school.
