Next year will see the big screen debut of the Teen Titans! Warner Bros. has officially declared that the popular Cartoon Network animated series Teen Titans Go! Will now be released in theaters across the US. The full-length animated Teen Titans Go! The film will release on July 27, 2018. Earlier, Warner Bros. had an untitled animation film listed for release on June 1, 2018, and now that has been rescheduled to July end.

Not much information is available at present. However, the voice cast from the TV series is set to lend their voices to the film as well. There is no official title, synopsis or director announced as of now. However, the film is set to release in ten months, and that means that more details will emerge shortly.

Also, a creative team is already in place because a good chunk of time is needed to create an animation film. We don’t yet know who is helming the project.  Greg Cipes, the guy whose voice is used for the character of Beast Boy, tweeted his excitement about the project and also confirmed that it is definitely taking place.

I’m Dreaming awake! Our Teen Titans Go! feature film is headed to the big screen July 27, 2018! #teentitansgo @cartoonnetwork @warnerbrostv.”

We have seen Warner Bros. achieve a lot of success by creating animated films based on DC Comics plots, but, generally, such films don’t get a proper theatrical release, and at most times they only get a Blu-ray/DVD and digital release. Therefore, the full-fledged theatrical release of Teen Titans Go! The film is a major step.

This show has already run for four seasons on Cartoon Network and has a significant audience and that probably convinced the Warner Bros. to opt for a theatrical release. Teen Titans generally also have a massive fan following.

They have become one of the most prominent DC Comics properties in last one decade or so. The consolidation started when the first Teen Titans series came on Cartoon Network and was subsequently followed by Teen Titans Go!which is a light-hearted version of the series. The Teen Titans have also been the source of two of DC’s animation movies in the past. First, one being Justice League vs. Teen Titans and the more recent one was Teen Titans: The Judas Contract and both had direct video releases.

Apart from the just announced Teen Titans Go!the film, Warner Bros. also has a live action Titans TV series in the works which will release on a new DC streaming service in 2018. That means 2018 is going to be quite a big year for Robin and the gang. At the moment, we don’t know if Robin or his team will feature in the DCEU, but, one thing is certain that there is a lot more of Teen Titansstuff headed our way.
