The first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie came out almost a decade back, and since then they have released several superhero movies, but, all of them have stayed away from a time travel plot. This is despite the fact that we all love seeing our favorite characters traverse the inter-galactic time and space limitations. Since Marvel has portrayed the Asgardians more as aliens rather than Norse Gods, the absence of time travel is not surprising.
However, the latest development about an untitled film scheduled to be made after Infinity War, suggests that things might change this front. Some clues indicate about Avengers traveling back in time in the movie!

According to a report, Marvel Studios have issued a casting call asking for women in the age range from 20-50 to be selected for playing engineers and secretaries for a sequence set in the 1960s. This implies that there will be some part of the screenplay based on that period.
The only thing that we need to figure out is the on-screen duration of that period and whether Avengers are featured in it or not. Since Infinity Warrevolves around the Infinity Stones, thus, it is not going to be out of place if some of the Avengers get thrown around in the river of time.
It is disappointing that there is no typical MCU crossover between Marvel and Fox for the film or else we would have got a fabulous chance to see the next adaptation of the Fantastic Four in the 1960s, and it would have been a treat.
The period being right won’t have needed many changes to their origin stories, and the superheroes present would have only made it way more interesting. While it is only a thought, but, won’t it be great if the original S.H.I.E.L.D. members such as Howard Stark and Peggy Carter could also join the Avengers. It would certainly be fascinating to see what happens when Tony’s father finds Tesseract.
