Over four months after she was first given a role as Domino in Deadpool 2, we finally have our first official glimpse at Zazie Beetz in the costume. The actor is duplicating a now-notorious photograph of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) on a bearskin carpet. This itself was a satire of Burt Reynolds’ scandalous naked bearskin rug photograph from the Cosmopolitan Magazine of the April 1972 issue. This picture flips the content a bit, with Zazie in a similar pose. However, as opposed to lying on a bearskin rug, she’s lying on Ryan Reynolds full Deadpool outfit.

The photograph, which originates from Ryan Reynolds’ Twitter, is followed by the inscription;

“Some people just know how to work a red carpet. #Domino #DeadPool2.”

The photograph is very fitting since the principal Deadpool bearskin rug picture offered the primary look at the Deadpool outfit. What’s more, we now we have our first look at Zazie Beetz in her full Domino costume. With production still under way, it’s conceivable that she’s recently started her work on the spin-off.

The casting of the generally unknown Zazie Beetz came as a shock to a few fans, particularly since, before casting her, others like Janelle Monae and Kerry Washington were rumored to take up the part. Others like Lizzy Caplan, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Sienna Miller, Sofia Boutella, Stephanie Sigman and Sylvia Hoeks auditioned for the part, yet that was right before the original Deadpool director Tim Miller left the venture. Clearly, the new director David Leitch went in an altogether different direction.

Zazie Beetz is best known for playing Van in the hit FX drama series Atlanta, and she will be seen next on the extra large screen in Geostorm, which releases on 20th October.

Although nothing has been formally said in regards to how Domino fits into the story, a casting call prodded that Neena Thurman, a.k.a. Domino, is a “no-nonsense badass who rarely shows her feelings,” furnished with “bullet-proof sarcasm” despite the fact that there is still a “vulnerable” human side underneath her tough exterior.

The character was made by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, making her debut in X-Force #8 (March 1992). Domino has the mutant capacity to modify things around her, with psychic abilities to alter objects around her to make it appear like she has “good luck” and everyone around her has misfortune. In the comics, she has been adored by the notable Cable (Josh Brolin), despite the fact that it isn’t clear how loyal her story will be to the comics.

The original Deadpool stars like T.J. Mill operator (Weasel), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Karan Soni (Dopinder) and Leslie Uggams (Blind Al) will be returning, alongside a few new individuals. Jack Kesy has been roped in to play the main scoundrel, who is reputed to be the Marvel Comics character, Black Tom. However, that still hasn’t been affirmed yet. Furthermore, Shioli Kutsuna and Julian Dennison are joining the cast in roles which are still unknown. While we sit tight for Deadpool 2, look at the main photograph highlighting Zazie Beetz as Domino, alongside the 2015 photograph that indicated Deadpool contemptuous Burt Reynolds’ bearskin rug photograph.
