The stars of the DCEU remain very supportive of director Zack Snyder who has helmed Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and majority of Justice League. At this year’s Comic-Con International, Ray Fisher showed his love for Snyder by wearing a t-shirt that read “I [Heart] ZS.” In the latest show of appreciation, Ezra Miller went on the record in order to credit Snyder.
“Zack Snyder is the DC god,” Miller said in Justice League: The Official Collector’s Edition, a new book featuring concept art and interviews with the cast and crew of Justice League. “He’s the father of our universe. He’s been directing this series of films that will plant the seeds for the whole Gaia tree of the DC Universe, and its many branches and flowers, giving us, the cast, this template as an artistic community. Zack has taken care of us all. He’s been so incredibly attentive to all of us and our diva needs and our questions. And when I want to overthink the physics of The Flash, he’s been ready to engage with me on that level.”
Despite directing 3 of the DCEU’s 5 movies, Snyder’s influence can be felt throughout the universe. He has served as a producer on Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman, the latter, he received writing credits on and cameoed in as a U.S. soldier.
With the support Snyder has received from his Justice League cast, actors like Henry Cavill admit that the initial vision did not strike the right chord with the fans. While he had stopped short of calling out Snyder by name, Cavill believes that the style of DCEU’s pre-Wonder Woman movies “hasn’t necessarily worked”.
Now in theaters, Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Raymond Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Amber Heard as Mera and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
