Wonder Woman Takes The Wheel In New Justice League Synopsis.

Everyone is aware now of the potential of Gal Gadot, as she starred in the phenomenal Wonder Woman earlier this year. The way her character revived the almost-dead franchise is a miracle in itself. Now, it looks like Warner Bros. have recognized her worth, as evident in the new Justice League poster. The poster, which had so far portrayed Batman as the lead in most cases, now feature Wonder Woman as the team lead (while Bats stand at the back).

In fact, even the story details have been modified. The earlier synopsis read as

“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.”

Obviously, it implied Batman to be the de-facto leader. However, the new synopsis goes by as:

“Once again, Wonder Woman must demonstrate her ability as a fierce warrior. Facing a great enemy, she and Batman join forces to recruit a group of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. Having formed an unprecedented League of heroes, they set out to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

It takes no genius to understand that the company has duly recognized the popularity of Gal Gadot, and decided to put her in the driving seat. Even though the average synopsis still implies that the team will be formed by the combined efforts of Bruce and Diana, the new details favor Gal Gadot to be the team leader. What substantiates this synopsis even further is the fact that it appeared not on wonder woman’s doll, but rather on Mera’s (played by Amber Heard. In case you are confused, we are talking about the new Mattel Mera dolls.

As per sources, Joss Whedon (who took up the wheels from Snyder after the latter had to leave due to personal issues) is doing some significant reshoots of the movie. Since it is evident to all by now that Wonder woman is the most popular character of DCEU, it is possible that Gal Gadot’s role might be expanded further in the movie. Whedon’s personal interest in the character further strengthens the argument.

Wonder woman scored over $800 million all over the world, which is almost equal to what Dawn of Justice grossed. This has led Warner Bros. to make maximum use of her till the market is hot (she is already set to appear in Flashpoint). Justice League arrives in theaters on November 17.
