Widowmaker is one of the heroes of the video game ‘Overwatch’. Her character is an assassin known for possessing no emotions except satisfaction after she eliminates her targets. She is equipped with mines containing poisonous gases, a sniper-rifle that can fire in a fully automatic mode, and a visor that grants her squad with infra-sight.
Widowmaker is patient, ruthless and shows no emotion, thus making her the perfect assassin and an efficient killer. It is believed that before becoming the Widowmaker, she was married to Gérard Lacroix, an Overwatch agent who spearheaded operations against the Talon terrorist organization.

After failing to eliminate Lacroix, Talon shifted their focus to his wife and kidnapped her. She was subjected to neural reconditioning and reprogrammed as a sleeper agent. Widowmaker went on to kill Gérard in his sleep. Talon later turned her into a living weapon by training her extensively for physical combat and alters her physiology.

It slowed her heart down which turned her skin blue and cold. She also lost the ability to feel human emotions. She is now the most effective assassin of Talon and feels nothing except satisfaction after completing her mission.

The Widowmaker possesses a multitude of abilities:
Widow’s Kiss: Her snipe-rifle is versatile and aims at distant targets. She generally uses them in a medium distance and her rifle can fire in a fully automatic mode.
Venom Mine: She swiftly-arms a venomous mine to a surface which gets triggered by the motion of the wandering target. Once it explodes, it projects poisonous gases to the enemies in the immediate vicinity.
Infra-Sight: Widowmaker has a recon visor which allows her and her squad to see heat signatures of their targets through walls and other surfaces for a period of time.
Grappling Hook: She launches a hook towards her aimed location. Once the hook comes into contact with the surface, she is drawn towards it. This allows her to expand her battlefield view and evade potential targets.
