Superheroes are the mighty imaginary beings that we all wish to be. They are all unique and have powers different than other superheroes, but, many of them have some common elements too. There are factors which make superheroes special and incredibly powerful. Both Marvel, as well as DC, have several superheroes who can use lightning as a tool, but, we don’t know which one of them is the most powerful, and this brings us to today’s list. We are comparing the mightiest lightning wielders and will figure out which one of them tops the charts.
1. Black Lightning
Among the earliest African American superheroes was the DC Comics character Black Lightning. He set the trend for black electrical heroes, and he used to generate electricity and could fire deadly lightning bolts. In the original comics, his power was generated by a belt he wore and later on he was regarded as a metahuman.
2. Static Shock
Static was initially a part of DC publication Milestone, and he later joined the DC Comics Universe. He gained powers to deliver electric shocks and to move metallic articles after the cops had sprinkled radioactive chemical on him. He had a scientific background and great wit. Initially regarded as the black Spiderman, he later becomes renowned as Static Shock.
3. Storm
One of the mutant X-Men, Storm can control the weather, and her go-to power is to use bolts of lightning. Electricity is power, and that’s why fans love her.
4. Zeus
The Olympian God of lightning Zeus has a wide range of powers which include controlling the weather, changing shapes, reviving the dead and producing new life. While his powers are diverse, he is best known as the God of Lightning Bolt attacks.
5. The Flash
If his powers are used to optimally, then The Flash will easily be the mightiest superhero ever known. He is the fastest man living, and he is so fast that he can run back and forward in time and his speed generates such a high amount of electricity that he can easily shoot lightning bolts.
6. Thor Odinson
Thor Odinson is a powerful Avenger and a Norse God who is also known as the God of Thunder. There is probably no other Avenger who is as mighty as Thor, and he is the only one worthy of lifting his magical hammer Mjolnir that makes him fly, command electricity and shoot lightning bolts. Not only these, but he also has an unbelievable amount of physical endurance, strength, and stamina. The latest Thor movie trailer also shows him wielding electricity.
7. Shazam
Shazam is the superhero version of Billy Batson who transforms into the immensely powerful superhero by merely uttering, “SHAZAM” (Word formed by mixing initial letters of the names of six ancient Gods: Soloman, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury). As soon as he says the word, he morphs into an adult dressed in a superhero costume and master of the powers inherited from the six Gods named above. He also has the ability to teleport.
Overall, while Zeus and Shazam give a tough competition, but, Thor Odinson is the one who wins top rank in our opinion. After all, this Mjolnir wielding God of Thunder can summon lightning at will and as seen in the Thor: Ragnarok trailer, he used lightning as a body element in his battle against Hela.
