Thor: Ragnarok might be crowned king of the box office now, but things were not so great in the God of Thunder’s movie franchise. The Thor movie had been met with just a  reception, but its sequel, Thor: The Dark World, is was not so well received.

According to one of the movie’s stars, the problems was not just in  the project but the movie in itself.

During an interview with BBC Radio 2, Christopher Eccelston had revealed that he had been lied to by Marvel Studios. He was not told that Malekith, the villain, will require  as much makeup as it did in the final product.

“Marvel were dishonest to me,” Eccelston revealed. “Beause they never, ever let me know that there’d be that amount of makeup.”

The actor then went on to say that he had spent a huge chunk of his time on makeup every day.

“The first couple of days it was about seven hours, eight hours,” the actor explained. “I think we got it down to six and a half. It’s a day’s work before [anything].”

Host Graham Norton had brought up the money which Eccelston had made by taking on this role in the movie. The actor was not shy about talking about the fact that the paycheck had kept him sitting in the makeup chair.

“Money,” he confirmed. “That’s exactly what I felt.”

As Eccelston had admitted in this interview, Thor: The Dark World was not his “finest moment.”

Inspire of the unsuccessful outing, The Dark World did not bury our mighty Asgardian forever. Thor: Ragnarok is a huge hit at the box office, and has received very  positive reception.
