Thor: Ragnarok’s reviews are coming out, however, the kind of rating it has got has stunned even Rotten Tomatoes who didn’t anticipate such a score from it.
The film has come out all guns blazing with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Although, only movie critics have watched it so far, and the rating is bound to go lower once the masses watch the film in theaters, however, this is truly a remarkable display.
The film is getting an average 7.7 out of ten rating points, and it has so far collected 30 reviews. Those reviews are subjective. However, there are various outstanding aspects.
The film has tremendously held on to its storyline. Thor’s character is not as realistic and political as the other Avengers, and that becomes evident as soon as you figure out that magical hammers, rainbow bridges, magical goats called Toothgnasher, etc. are all daily life routines for Thor.
Ragnarok has adapted well to this, and it let the actors enjoy the storyline and thrive in it, and that’s why it is in a different league from the other Marvel movies.
The other delightful aspect of this film is its fun tone which is due to the first point of course. Taika Waititi has exploited his comic talents well and delivers fantastic jokes and hilarious punchlines rapidly. That’s what a review by Chris Nashawaty mentioned, when he stated, “Ragnarok is basically a Joke Delivery System – and on that score, it works. The movie is fun.”
Not only this but, the chemistry between Thor and Hulk is contagious, and they really prove to be show stealers whenever they share the screen space. Brian Truitt underscored this in his review by writing, “Even tonal issues can’t upend the magic this movie taps into putting Thor and Hulk together as new best buddies, whether they’re throwing down in an arena or having a bromantic heart to heart.”
Alex Godfrey from GQ gave a great opinion about the film by saying, “This film is a glorious carnival of nonsense.”
That’s a wonderful way you would like to spend a few hours and revel in the fun called Thor: Ragnarok when it releases on November 3.
