Jason Momoa recently teased that the production on the reboot of The Crow will be starting soon.
Momoa had shared a photo of Eric Draven/The Crow’s iconic makeup on Instagram. The image comes from a fan poster by LostMind. The actor had posted a photo of himself with Corin Hardy.
“I’ve been waiting for sooooo long. @corinhardy let’s do this brother aloha j,” Momoa wrote alongside the pictures.
A reboot of the 1994 movie had been in development at Relativity Media for 10 years before landing at Sony Pictures in September. It was not clear if Momoa and Hardy were attached to the project after the move, but Momoa’s post seems to confirm this.
Based on James O’Barr’s cult comic, The Crow centers on Eric Draven, who is resurrected by a supernatural crow to avenge his murder and his girlfriend’s. The Crow Reborn will be more faithful to the original comic than Alex Proyas’ 1994 movie. In 2016, Proyas had called a reboot of the movie “unnecessary.”
Edward R. Pressman, who produced the original movie, will produce this remake with Samuel Hadida’s Davis Films, Highland Film Group, and Electric Shadow.
Directed by Corin Hardy (The Hallow), The release date for The Crow Reborn is currently unknown. Jason Momoa will star as Eric Draven/The Crow.
