During the weekend, the complete LEGO sets from the Avengers: Infinity War toyline started appearing online. After the internet managed to closely check those out, one of those sets seems to have revealed a potential crossover between Avengers: Infinity War and Netflix parts of the MCU.
We are talking about a LEGO set which shows Doctor Strange, Spider-Man along with his Iron-Spider suit, and Iron-Man battling Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian outside the Sanctum Sanctorum of Doctor Strange.
Keen viewers spotted that The Defenders being a part of the set is certainly an Easter Egg. Just outside the Sanctum Sanctorum, some kind of a newsstand is seen which has an issue of the New York Bulletin, the place where Karen Page and the late Ben Urich of the Netflix/MCU shows worked.
That’s not all, as you can figure out the headline and also the front-page photograph. The headline is “Crime Floods The Streets,” and the image is a black and red cartoon showing a red LEGO minifig that has horns and a billy club. Those fans who have been following the Netflix shows are aware that the image is that on the Ol’ Hornhead aka Daredevil.
By the end of the day, this might be nothing else, but, just a clever Easter Egg planted by the toymakers at LEGO. Or, the much-awaited crossover between films and Netflix shows might just happen which the fans have been desperately waiting for.
The next MCU release will be Ryan Coogler helmed Black Panther which will release exactly in a month from now on February 16th, 2018. That will see Marvel Cinematic Universe gallop ahead towards Avengers: Infinity War, a film that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has billed as the “culmination” of the last ten years of MCU.
