The world of comic books thrives on alternate universes, and they are invariably always amazing. The Amalgam Comics, which was a joint publishing arm co-owned by Marvel and DC, wasn’t an exception. It merged the heroes and villains belonging to both the companies and created a select limited edition sort of hybrid characters. In this list, we will have a look at five of the best Amalgam Comics characters:
1. The Hyena
The Hyena was, in fact, a man called Victor H. Quinn and this mega-villain had The Joker, and Sabretooth brilliantly merged into one evil creature and a fair bit of Harley Quinn sprinkling. We don’t want to serve any spoilers here, but, that’s who ultimately proved to be his nemesis. This man who was renowned as the Cackling Canine was capable of turning things downside up no matter which universe he was a part of. Hyena was being developed as a part of the Weapon X project and had an Adamantium skeleton, but, things went terribly wrong, and he became a lunatic. Don’t know how you would feel, but, bones made out of strongest metal known will drive any normal human being crazy.
2. Speed Demon
As his name hints, this superhero is an outcome of the merger of The Flash and Ghost Rider who has at his disposal powers like super-speed, flight, and fire. The truth is, if he had been the guy in that film with Nicolas Cage instead of Ghost Rider, things could have been entirely different for humanity with no hunger, strife, and violence on the planet. Just imagine how freaking awesome it would be to see Nicolas Cage streaking across the globe at lightning speeds.
3. Bizarnage
Bizzaro and Carnage are easily two of the most iconic baddies all by themselves, however, could things ever be any better than a name like Bizarnage? Come on, is that even a real thing or a cruel joke? On a serious note, that’s exactly what they had created. It doesn’t matter if Bizarnage is the most bizarre name you would ever give to a villain. Try using that word in a conversational tone, and no matter how much you want it, it will remain to be a bizarre word.
4. Lobo, the Duck
Lobo the Duck is probably the most easily understandable yet mean name given to any Amalgam character. This one is a hybrid of Lobo and Howard the Duck. Don’t forget that Lobo was an alien killer and bounty hunter while surprisingly Howard the Duck was the first ever cinematic outing for a Marvel Comics character, way back in 1986. (Don’t go looking for that film as we warn you that you won’t be able to handle the sight of certain parts of a Duck’s anatomy).
5. Dark Claw
Let’s say you had never heard of Amalgam and had no clue about the hybrids that were created in that universe. Still, you can believe that this has to be the best-ranked mashup of all possible. This is Logan Wayne AKA Dark Claw which fuses together two of the greatest and grandest characters. This character saw his parents being murdered and then had to undergo the Weapon X project. Just consider the fact that this is a Batman who has adamantium. Don’t tell us that you are not swooning at the thought.
